Discover the majesty of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley on a tour designed to make the most of your time and enjoy each destination with comfort and security.
Itinerary:
Sacred Valley Visit (6:30 am)
Hotel pick-up and tour start.
Admire the breathtaking view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, formed by various rivers and fertile lands.
Visit to Chincheros, where we will explore its impressive Inca terraces and visit a local textile workshop. Artisans will teach us about wool production and ancestral weaving techniques.
Continue to the Moray terraces, an Inca archaeological site considered an agricultural laboratory due to its concentric terrace system.
After approximately 20 minutes in Moray, we head to Maras, our base point to visit the famous Maras Salt Mines.
On the way, we will pass through the colonial town of Maras. Upon arrival at the Salt Mines, we will see over 3,000 salt ponds, used since Inca times and still operated by the local community.
Guided tour of the Salt Mines with time for photos.
Ollantaytambo & Train to Aguas Calientes
We head to Urubamba for a buffet lunch featuring a variety of Peruvian dishes, salads, soups, and desserts.
Then, we visit Ollantaytambo, an Inca city with impressive urban planning, stone canals, and military, religious, and cultural structures.
After the tour, we transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the Expedition or Voyager service (2:30 pm).
During the train journey, enjoy spectacular landscapes until we arrive in Aguas Calientes.
Our staff will meet you at the station and accompany you to your hotel (a short 5-minute walk, as there are no vehicles in Aguas Calientes).
In the evening, meet with your guide at the hotel for a detailed briefing on the next day’s Machu Picchu visit.
